Moving Data Files

     




Illustrated is the method for moving a datafile for an active instance.




1) take the tablespace offline

2) move the file, using mv command

3) ALTER TABLESPACE ts01
RENAME DATAFILE '/data/ts01.dbf'
TO '/data5/ts01.dbf' ;

4) bring the tablespace online
